Event Details

This Adult Learn-to-Ride is a 2-hour class for adults or mature teens who are ready to ride a bicycle! Pending weather conditions, it is composed of an outdoor class along a quiet lane in the Azalea Garden to promote social distancing.

This class is limited to 8 participants. Tickets are available on a self-determined sliding scale. The General Ticket is the base cost for the class; Reduced Price Tickets are available for those with a tighter budget. The Pay-It-Forward Ticket allows us to continue to make the Reduced Price Ticket available for those who need it. Choose the level that feels comfortable for you.

An additional $14.04 (includes tax) fee is paid directly to the Wheel Fun rental kiosk at the beginning of class for the actual bicycle rental. The rental fee is not included in the non-refundable registration Ticket.

Height Restriction: the bikes rented for this class cannot accommodate students who are under 5'2" in height.

Students will be shown how to balance, pedal, start, stop, and steer a bicycle as well as adjust a helmet for proper fit. Most people learn to ride a bicycle during the class, but even if they do not they'll leave knowing a low-stress method to teach themselves to ride.

Getting to the class:

  • SEPTA bus routes 7, 32, 38, 43, 48 pass closest to the Art Museum area.
  • Parking is available: Lloyd Hall lot / along Sedgley Drive / Art Museum garage.
  • Minors participating in this class will need an adult (over 18yrs) to sign the waiver on their behalf.
